2018 Conference: Proclaiming the Splendor of Truth with Love

“At times, in the discussions about new and complex moral problems, it can seem that Christian morality is in itself too demanding, difficult to understand and almost impossible to practise. This is untrue, since Christian morality consists, in the simplicity of the Gospel, in following Jesus Christ, in abandoning oneself to him, in letting oneself be transformed by his grace and renewed by his mercy, gifts which come to us in the living communion of his Church.” Veritatis Splendor, 119

The 25th anniversary of Pope Saint John Paul’s prophetic document, Veritatis Splendor, will be at the center of an upcoming formation event for clergy, religious, and professionals who minister to persons who experience same-sex attractions (SSA) and gender dysphoria.

The event, which will focus on the theme “Proclaiming the splendor of truth with love”, will feature presentations from acclaimed theologians, including Dr. Janet Smith, Dr. Mary Healy, and Fr. Paul Sullins. Participants will also hear witness testimonies from two Courage members featured in the documentary Desire of the Everlasting Hills, Paul Darrow and Rilene Simpson.

The conference will take place October 22-24 at St. Thomas Seminary Conference Center, in Bloomfield, Connecticut. This will be Truth & Love’s fourth conference to date.

Clergy, religious, and anyone working in pastoral ministry or the healing professions are invited to attend.

The three day event offers an opportunity to learn how to care for people living with SSA and questions about sexual identity from experts in the fields of pastoral ministry, theology, philosophy, psychology, and health care.

Registration will open summer 2018. Information on registration, as well as other details about the conference, will be added to the event page in the coming weeks.

This event is an initiative of Courage International.
